On the 3rd February AGM Services held their first engineers meeting of 2017, as part of their ongoing training, ensuring engineers are up to speed with the latest products and innovations. The schedule for the day was jam packed from start to finish, including a sneak preview at the new 3,000 sq ft warehouse, which is on schedule to be fully functional and unveiled this spring.
Maintaining Safety Standards
The entire fleet of vans was checked over which is no mean feat as they barely managed to fit into the car park at head office. All equipment on the vans was assessed and any replacements were issued. As the health and safety of our staff is paramount, a thorough check on PPE was carried out, by trained professionals, to ensure it meets with all requirements. Any PPE found to be of a substandard quality was immediately disposed of and reissued.

All AGM vans carry stocks of values of over £10,000 helping us to achieve our unrivalled first time fix rate of 94%. A stock take on every van was carried out and stocks were replenished. The most common parts are held on the vans but should any parts not be stocked on the van, head office holds a further £150,000 of spare parts which are all available for same day despatch.

Our Technical Manager held an open discussion to explore the strengths of the team members and to fill any knowledge gaps. Ongoing training and back up is offered to the engineers as standard, and with such a large network of engineers, with a diverse knowledge set, the engineers always have a pool of experience to turn to.
Customer Information Portal
The new AGM Customer Information Portal featured highly on the agenda. The portal was designed and commissioned as an easy to use management tool for our customers, which frees up time spent on unnecessary paperwork and filing whilst allowing instant access to management reports. However, it is also proving to be an extremely useful tool for employees at AGM head office and the Engineers as well. Check out the AGM Customer Portal.
The Future
AGM has a well-defined strategic plan for the future growth of the company. Updates were provided as to the developments of the plan and with several new faces present, including Engineers and office staff alike it was plain to see the growth strategy is well under way.
Team Building
Disguised as a method of team building and strengthening communication channels the entire AGM team descended on Manchester for a Friday night of food, fun and frivolity. A good time was had by all!
Wesley Young, Sales Director, AGM Services commented: “It’s great to see all of the engineers in the same place at the same time. Our spray booth engineers are strategically based across the UK to ensure they’re always in the right place at the right time, so group meetings like this are crucial for training and updates, especially with us having so many new members of the team.”

AGM Services love to support charitable causes and before Christmas were more than happy to help Engineers Mate Chris Edwards and his brother. The two brothers built Santa’s sleigh from scratch in order to raise money for their local charity – The Maidenhead Round Table. Chris can be seen in the photo as the elf and his brother is Father Christmas.

£5,000 was raised in total for the Round Table with the sleigh collecting money as it took a trip around the streets of Maidenhead for 17 nights before Christmas.
Round Tables are national voluntary organisations for men aged between 18 and 45 that focus on giving something back to the community.
Several companies got together to donate materials for the sleigh, including AGM Services who donated the money for the paintwork.
AGM Services are always keen to help out with charities when possible, whether it’s supporting Chris and the sled or wearing it pink in support of Breast Cancer Research.

As part of our comprehensive spraybooth service and maintenance package, mist clearance testing ensures that you have the appropriate spray booth clearance times to prevent exposure to isocyanate particles.
As most airborne paint mist is under 10 microns (which is the most the naked eye can see) it is important that spraybooth operators are aware of how long it takes isocyanate particles to dissipate. Spraybooth clearance times should be clearly displayed outside the booth, as exposure to high levels of isocyanate particles can lead to occupational asthma.
During the course of the mist clearance test, the engineer will fill the booth with smoke and record the time it takes for the smoke to be extracted. This time will be noted on a label and placed adjacent to any personnel doors and also by the vehicle doors, serving as a warning that the booth is unsafe to enter, without the appropriate PPE, until the clearance time has elapsed. The date of the test is recorded, as well as noting when the next retest will be due.
AGM Services provide mist clearance testing ensuring your equipment adheres to COSHH legislation. An annual mist clearance test ensures your spraybooth remains compliant and safe to use.
Mist clearance can be combined with other spray booth maintenance work requiring only one site visit thus keeping costs to a minimum.
Contract service customers can benefit from FREE of charge mist clearance testing. If you have any questions regarding the advantages of our contracts, simply visit our FAQs page here.
