To our customers,
In light of the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we want to reassure you that we are taking great efforts and every necessary precaution to ensure that our team works as remotely as possible. Crucially, our network of UK engineers are still operating for breakdown cover and are available should you require their expertise.
Stores are currently running at a reduced capacity to maintain 2 metre working distances, so with this in mind we are asking sites that may need spare parts or filters to contact us ahead of time so that we can arrange couriers as swiftly as possible.
This is an extremely difficult, and unprecedented, time for everyone. We have every possible safety measure in place and can guarantee that you will receive the same high standard of service.
We are committed to keeping your equipment and operation in full working order. We are keeping a close eye on our government’s guidelines and will not hesitate to act swiftly and proactively in the face of the pandemic.
As always, should you require breakdown assistance you can call 01706 363585 or email sales@agm-services.co.uk.
AGM Services have been servicing spraybooths at RRG Bolton for 25 years now and have seen the company expand over the years from having 2 spraybooths to the 4 spraybooths that they have today. All 4 spraybooths are drive through and can be accessed from both inside and outside the bodyshop for maximum workflow efficiency.
2 of the spraybooths that were installed in 2007 had traditional fluorescent tube lighting, and while the lighting in the spraybooths was good, next to their brand new counterparts with state of the art LED lighting you could really tell the difference.
RRG Bolton made the decision to upgrade the lighting on the two older spraybooths, not only will it save them up to 60% in energy costs in comparison to traditional fluorescent lighting and save on long term consumable fitting costs, but it will also significantly improve visibility for the painters.
As a trusted service partner AGM were recruited for the retro fitting of new LED lighting into the spraybooths. The LED conversion was done during their standard service schedule to minimise downtime and one booth was completed at a time to reduce the impact on RRG Bolton’s business.
The AGM Engineers took readings from the spraybooth lighting prior to the LED conversion which came back at 980 LUX, the reading taken after the installation was 2,250 LUX. Straight away the painters noticed a significant difference in their working environment.
AGM Services also maintain 2 Junair spraybooths installed in 2008 at the groups Swinton bodyshop.
“Upgrading to LED lighting is always a quick win when it comes to saving energy. As well as the obvious costs savings the increase in Lux level (brightness) is substantial. The benefits are noticeable straight away, the increase in brightness enables a more even paint coverage, so the final finish is considerably improved. Work can be carried out in conjunction with your usual service and as always 2 AGM engineers will be on site at any time, making sure that the down time and disruption is minimal. Before and after LUX level certificates are issued so customers can quickly show auditors their equipment exceeds their requirements.”
Save both time and money whilst also increasing your quality of work by opting for a LED lighting upgrade in your spraybooth.
AGM Services can retrofit and upgrade spraybooth equipment to ensure your bodyshop is running to maximum efficiency. For more information about AGM Services and the LED lighting upgrades contact the team on 01706 363 585 or email sales@agm-services.co.uk
On the 9th June, 2 AGM Services employees took to their bikes, to complete the Ribble Valley Ride, in aid of local charities. The ride saw them pedalling through the countryside, crossing the river Ribble and passing through the villages of West Bradford and Bashall Eaves. Then crossing back over the Hodder and Ribble rivers over the ancient Edisford Bridge before finishing for a well-deserved bacon butty.
Fiona Morrison, Operations Director and Jordan Young, Stores Manager were delighted to take part in the 25 mile scenic course.
The Ribble Valley Ride is organised on an annual basis in aid of local charities, Rosemere Cancer Foundation, Dans Trust and Prostate Cancer UK. In 2018 £10,000 was raised for the worthy causes and this year the cycle ride is set to beat that target.
AGM Services have always taken a responsible approach to the environment and every reasonable effort is always made to minimise our impact on the environment. With climate change being a hot topic AGM have taken one step further and have pledged to plant 2,300 saplings in conjunction with the Woodlands Trust in 2019.
The Forestry Commission actively encourages tree planting in both urban and rural areas to support the fight against climate change. Trees absorb CO2 from the atmosphere improving air quality and helping to combat climate change. In addition, the root systems of the trees play an active role in protecting soil from erosion, reducing surface run-off and decreasing the risk of flooding.
Neil Morrison, Managing Director, AGM Services commented. “We have always taken our impact on the environment seriously and tried to minimise our carbon footprint, but this is something that we feel that we can actively give back. We are hopeful that the carefully selected balance of native tree species will encourage the local wildlife and ecosystems as well as promoting biodiversity in the area.”
AGM Services are UKs largest supplier of spraybooth aftercare, including spraybooth servicing and repair as well as providing prompt responses to spraybooth breakdowns. AGM has a national network of engineers operating from strategically placed service centres across the UK.

As a disposable commodity, it’s easy to see why people choose cheaper options for their spray booth filters. Still, the choice you make when choosing your filters has an impact not only on the efficiency and longevity of your spray booth, but also its effect on the quality of the finished product and more importantly, the safety of your workforce.
There are a variety of different paint spray booth filters that you need to be aware of to ensure that your spray booth produces the best possible performance.
Input filters are there to ensure that the air entering the spray booth cabin is clean and free from particles. It takes a particle of just 10 micron to ruin your paint job – for reference that’s 0.01mm, you wouldn’t even see the particle before it hit the paintwork.
Input filters are also a good place to start if you have any airflow issues. If you don’t have enough airflow check if your filters are clogged and if there is too much airflow check that the filters are fitted correctly. A cheap input filter will block prematurely and reduce the airflow through the cabin.
AGM filters capture particles down to 10 microns and are composed of thermally bonded 100% polyester fibres impregnated with a tackifier to ensure it holds the dust particles for longer. The clean air side is reinforced to increase its stability ensuring correct installation. Check out our Premium Spray Booth Input Filter today!
Input filters clean the air coming into the spray booth and as you would expect extract filters clean the air leaving the booth. The chemicals used in paints are hazardous and not only do you have a legal requirement to protect your staff from these chemicals but you have an obligation to the outside environment as well.
In addition to protecting us from harmful chemicals, extract filters also protect the inner workings of the spray booth – fans, ducting and dampers should be protected from the build-up of over-spray, further increasing the overall lifespan of your spray booth, and reducing the chances of breakdowns.
Extract filters need to be able to hold a significant amount of overspray and contaminants to reduce the number of filter changes required but also need to ensure a good airflow through the filters to ensure the pressure drop is minimal.
Quite often a dual extract filter method is used – a primary extract filter (often referred to as paint stop) and a secondary extract filter. The role of the primary extract filter is to remove the larger paint particles lengthening the lifespan of the more costly secondary extract filter. The secondary extract filter is made from a polyester non-toxic fibre.
At AGM Service we offer Extract Filters of different sizes to ensure you find the perfect product for your spray booth. Add our Spray Booth Extract Filters to your shopping basket today!
Any point at which air is forced into to the spray booth should be filtered to avoid contamination and this includes auxiliary air drying systems. If you’re finding that your air drying system causes defects in your paint work, chances are you need to change the filters, or that the system has no filtration. These filters are sock filters and are used for auxiliary drying systems such as Junair QADs.
If you are in need of a effective auxiliary drying system, take a look at the Junair QAD Input Sock Filter now!
AGM has a new filter media available for high volume users in the form of PolyMat Ex Longlife – it eliminates the need for the traditional 2 stage extract filter system, and also filters to lower levels than standard
fibreglass. It lasts for over 60% longer than traditional filters giving you longer between filter changes with no significant air pressure drop until the filter expires. The inner workings of the spray booth are kept cleaner for longer reducing the build-up of overspray inside the air handling plant.
It is comprised fully from synthetics so there are no fibre glass irritants present meaning it is more environmentally friendly, easier to dispose of and also much more pleasant to handle. This product is exclusively available to AGM contract service customers.
Just as important as selecting the right filter for you is the establishment of a regular filter maintenance programme. The cleanliness of your spray booth has a direct impact on the finished quality of your work.
The combination of different makes and models of spray booths, different types of filter and different paint types mean it’s not always easy to anticipate when the filter will need replacing. A manometer or magnehelic pressure gauge can be one way to identify if your exhaust filter is due for renewal.
Alternatively, you can turn to your spray booth maintenance provider to assist with a schedule that takes into account your usage whilst also looking at the cost efficiency of your spray booths performance.
AGM have a bespoke filter warehouse meaning that chances are the filter will be in stock and can be despatched to you straight away. Our state-of-the-art facilities mean that your filter can be trimmed to size saving you the hassle and irritation of working with fibreglass.
If you already know which filter you require for your spray booth, you can order the product online at by visiting our dedicated spray booth filter page.
As one of the leading spray booth filters UK providers, we know that spray booth maintenance isn’t always as simple as just changing the filter when it looks full. For advice on filter performance and which filters would best suit your body shop, contact AGM Services on 01706 363 585.
Or if you can’t speak to our team over the phone right now, you can also contact us online by completing our online enquiry form.
Your exhaust filter will operate best for the first 50-60 hours of spraying, according to basic general guidelines. During typical use, you should anticipate changing your extract filters every two to four weeks. This will ensure that your extract fan continues to function correctly and that clean air is emitted into the environment.
Extract filter replacement frequency can vary between 100 and 250 running hours, depending on the type of extraction in your spray booth and the extent of work it’s operated for. This could mean changes every fortnight, but at the very least three times between main spray booth service intervals.
Paint overspray particles are trapped by extract filters, which are positioned near the booths extract fan. Workers inside and outside the booth, as well as the surrounding environment, are protected from paint overspray by the filters.

Each year AGM Services put aside a portion of their budget to donate to charitable causes. This year AGM have chosen to sponsor Football for Cancer (FFC).
AGMs Spencer Cole and Calvin Swann, the engineering team for the South Coast have taken part in FFC since its inception in 2008.
Most people know someone who has been effected by cancer and FFC are there to offer help to those who need it most. This could be just making sure someone doesn’t have to worry about their heating bill or paying for costly necessary equipment.
FFC started as a local charity football match to raise money for Cancer Research, people enjoyed it so much that 10 years on it has evolved into an event running in 3 cities, so far having raised over £700,000 for those in need.
Spencer Cole, Service and Maintenance Engineer AGM Services commented:
“Calvin and I have been involved in this since the beginning and not only is it great fun to be part of but it is a cause close to many people’s hearts.”
The main football tournament took place in April and May at football grounds across Portsmouth and Southampton.
Wesley Young, director AGM Services also commented:
“FFC is a very worthy cause, AGM are proud of the work that Spencer and Calvin have done for the charity and we’re only too pleased to be able to offer FFC a donation.”
