GOOD LUCK TO WESLEY YOUNG IN THE HILLSBOROUGH TO ANFIELD RUN 2014

We would all like to wish Wesley Young, Sales Director, AGM Services the very best luck as he prepares for the Hillsborough to Anfield Run, which is a gruelling 96 miles over a three day period. Starting on Sunday 13th April the run will see Wesley start from Anfield the home of Liverpool FC and end the run in Hillsborough the home of Sheffield Wednesday FC on Tuesday 15th April. That’s 32 miles each day for 3 days.

Supporting Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and Children’s Hospital Sheffield

Wesley is running to raise money for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and The Children’s Hospital Sheffield. Alder Hey Children’s Hospital sees over 270,000 young patients and their families every year. The Children’s Hospital Sheffield is one of only 4 stand-alone children’s hospitals in the UK. The charity’s role is to provide over and above the standard NHS provision, enhancing the hospital and matching world class equipment with existing world class expertise.

Wesley commented “This run is for a great cause. The two hospitals combined see nearly 400,000 children every year and do a fantastic job despite continued cut backs in funding. Running 32 miles a day for 3 days is going to be a tough test, I have done my best to prepare physically and mentally. Friends and family have been extremely supportive in the build up to the run both in terms of motivation and donations”.

Both teams at Junair Spraybooths and AGM Services wish Wesley the very best of luck.

All our vans are fully racked with the latest spray booth service and maintenance equipment and spray booth spare parts.

Here at AGM Service we pride ourselves on offering a premium, high quality, reliable service. Regularly Replace Spray Booth Filters

Replacing the extract filters on your spray booth between services is just as important as the regular maintenance checks. By doing this, you are ensuring your spray booth is working both to its optimum efficiency and productivity, as well as ensuring you remain compliant with EPA legislation.

Depending on the type of extraction in your Spray booth, and the scope of work it’s used for, extract filter change frequency can vary between 100 and 250 running hours. This could lead to needing changes as frequent as every fortnight, but as a minimum at least three times between main Spraybooth service intervals.

Delaying changing these spray booth filters results in a drop in extraction of paint overspray through the filters as they block, the end result causing defects in paintwork. The cost of having to redo one paint job  is often more expensive than a set of filters, so in the long run having a schedule in place to replace your filters will prove more profitable.

Only the Best Quality Booth Filters and Products from AGM

Obviously while value for money is important in the current climate, ensuring you remain compliant is also critical. Good quality filters will hold more overspray / dust than a cheaply priced product, the weight (or Dust holding capacity) is important when comparing. There are a number of internet based companies who will sell a standard product that is bought in bulk, without considering the actual type of filter required for the design of Spraybooth you have installed. AGM Services staff have extensive knowledge of many different types of Spraybooth manufacturers, makes and models, as well as the different types of extraction available, to be able to provide you with a quote for the correct product. Often a 4” (100mm) filter will fit without suppressing airflow, easing the load on the synthetic secondary filter, as opposed to buying a 2” (50mmm) filter that while cheap to buy blocks quicker and requires more frequent and expensive labour and downtime costs changing. It goes without saying that all products supplied by AGM Services work in compliance with statuary obligations under the Environmental Protection Act (EPA) and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) legislations.

AGM understands that spray booth filters are not high on everyone’s day to day agenda, which is why we can take the hassle away and set up a filter call-off. Customers who have a Spraybooth Service & Maintenance Contract also benefit from additional discounts, as well as paying no carriage for filter media. We can also arrange for one of our experienced and knowledgeable engineers to periodically visit you to change the filters for you, allowing you and your painters to get on with what your good at, repairing and preparing vehicles and components.

Spray Booth Filter Replacement FAQs

How often should you change spray booth filters?

Your spray booth filter will perform best for the first 50-60 hours of spraying. During regular use, you should anticipate to change filters every two to four weeks. This will keep your spray booth in good operating order and guarantee that only clean air enters the booth.

Can you wash spray booth filters?

It is not recommended that you re-use spray booth filters. They are brittle and can be fiddly if you were to try and clean them.

How do you service a spray booth?

As well as keeping the floor clean to stop overspray and undesirable particles from entering your fresh paintwork, it is important to keep the walls clean, tidy and dust free. At AGM we ensure the burner head is cleaned and inspected regularly, safety devices are checked and air flow tested to COSHH requirements, among other regulations to keep our spray booths serviced.

In the unfortunate event that your spray booth should encounter a fault or breakdown altogether, it is of paramount importance to ensure you have a contingency plan to diagnose and repair in place.  Our spray booth engineers are committed to doing just that. AGM know that a fault or breakdown to a spray booth can greatly affect revenue by creating a bottleneck in the bodyshop, at times bringing business to a standstill. Our in-house Technical Team are available to talk through problems over the phone, and with their wealth of experience in the spray booth industry it’s possible that problems can be resolved without the need for a visit to site. This saves not just the cost of the call-out but also gets you back in production as quickly as possible.

Right Place, Right Time and with the Right Tools

If the fault is not something our technical team can remedy over the phone, you’ll need one of our spray booth engineers to visit straight away. Our Operations Team will arrange to dispatch one of our spray booth repair engineers to you promptly. We have service centres strategically situated throughout the United Kingdom allowing us to quickly service every region in the country as quickly as possible.  If the fault on your spray booth is caused by a faulty component, and needs a new part, more often than not our spray booth engineer will have it available from his van stock. Stocks of the most commonly replaced parts for the majority of booths are kept on the van. Most of our competitors run around in small vans or estate cars with minimal stocks to keep their overheads down, by using AGM as your breakdown response provider most visits are resolved in one visit meaning your costs are minimised both from us and from loss of production.

Even in the event that a part is not stocked on our spray booth engineers van then AGM can quickly procure the required part from our sister company Junair, the UK largest Spray booth manucturer.

High quality and high performance

Our spray booth filters are all made to meet EN779:2012 criteria to ensure they are suitable for application and provide the best performance for effective filtration. After all, a high-quality filter is just as important as having regular schedules for changing your spray booth filters. Rest assured, at AGM Services our range of spray booth filters ensures maximum running efficiency.

What is the EN779:2012 criteria?

Spray booth filters and supplies need to meet the European Standard for all air filters, which is the EN779:2012 criteria that came into effect in 2021. Simply put, this standard characterises the filtering performance of building ventilation filters.

A wide range of spray booth filters to choose from

We offer a varied range of filters to choose from, including spray booth ceiling filters (roof filters), pre-filters in cut pads and cartridges, sock filters for spray booth blower systems and various ranges of spray booth extract/floor filters. These range in grades from G (coarse), M (medium) to F (fine).

We can supply filters for any make or model of spray booth oven on the market, cut to size or supplied in bulk rolls. We also offer a monthly filter call-off facility so that you’re not overstocked with bulky rolls of filter on-site.

Thermally-bonded 100% polyester fibres

Our input filters are composed of thermally bonded 100% polyester fibres impregnated in-depth with a tackifier to stop the loss of dust caused by air vibration, increasing the dust holding capacity. Designed to remove all particles above 10 microns, the clean air side is reinforced with a polyester scrim to ensure any loose fibres are not dropped into the airstream and into any paintwork.

Our engineers are here to help

At AGM Services, we have a national network of directly employed engineers who are able to visit your site free of charge and discuss your spray booth filter supply requirements.

As well as changing your filters at the time of service, we can also provide a quote to supply and change your extract filters between services (instead of having to burden your own staff with the responsibility).
